Shani Belgrave M.D., a fellowship trained minimally invasive and bariatric surgeon, joined Peachtree Surgical and Bariatrics in 2021.  Dr. Belgrave is from Silver Spring, Maryland.  She completed medical school at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Belgrave did her general surgery residency at the University of Maryland. 

During her residency, she won numerous awards for academics including awards for her published research on tissue remodeling after injury.  Dr. Belgrave completed a minimally invasive and bariatric fellowship at the University of Washington in 2016.  She enjoys teaching and serves as a mentor for medical students.  She is a member of numerous medical societies including the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and the Atlanta Medical Association.  She is a skilled board-certified surgeon with a passion for transforming the health and lives of her patients.
